Karen is SuperK VA!

I've lived a lot of life in my 45 years on earth.  Some of my favorite moments are with my family, while others are the varying work experiences I've had since entering the workforce at the age of 14.

When I was 14, I worked for $2 an hour at the corner fruit stand picking weeds from the pumpkin patch and driving the tractor backward with the bin for the people picking corn in the field.  At 16, I worked in the extended child care department at a private school.   My senior year, I was decorating cakes at a grocery store.  In college I worked at as a coat check at a ritzy club in Minneapolis and even made balloon animals for tips in Downtown Disney.  Add in a bunch of retail experience, a number of administrative positions and an MLM here and there and you've got a very well-rounded, 'Jill of all Trades' kind of girl.

I love serving my clients.  I love serving my family.  I LOVE being able to do both as a virtual assistant.  For twelve years now, I have balanced the work/family relationship with excellence and grace.  The reason my business is called 'SuperK' Virtual Assistance is because I'm able to juggle a number of tasks.  My spirit animal is definitely an octopus.

When I'm not working, you'll find me watching a movie with the kids or playing some sort of puzzle game on my phone.  The summers in Michigan are beautiful, so one of my favorite things to do is to make dinner and eat in our screened-in porch... away from the mosquitoes :)

I am a Chapter Director for an organization called M.E.N.D. (Mommies Enduring Neonatal Death) here in MidMichigan. I'm excited to use my many years in the ministry to help bring comfort to families who are journeying through miscarriage, stillbirth and infant loss.  Having lost 2 babies myself, this sisterhood is dear to my heart.

Our entire family is involved in martial arts. We currently have a two 3rds and a 2nd degree Black Belt in the house and I’m two tests away from my Black Belt now! We love training and instructing at our gym Che Ko & Grey Wolf Martial Arts.

Last but not least, I also enjoy being a certifiable nerd.  I know way too much about Marvel Avengers characters, Star Wars theories and Disney backstories.  Don't laugh, but I've been to six Weird Al Yankovic concerts.  He's so talented and entertaining!

My family is my 'why' and the reason I work from home as a virtual assistant.  I'm proud to be able to serve my clients as well as I serve my family.  I've been blessed with amazing clients who become an extension of my family.  That's why I take heart in your business.
